Wine Cellar Doors

At the design stage, often the wine cellar door is selected prior to cooling system, insulation or the wine racks. With years of wine cellar doors expertise, we only offer highest quality fully insulated systems built with same rigorous requirements as elements demand of our exterior product. Our wine cellar doors are primarily done in 2-1/4" thickness and featuring solid wooden jambs and casings, color-matched solid oak threshold, Q-Lon insulation and door shoe.

Available in a wide variety of styles, our doors may accommodate narrow opening or a full 42" width for easy passage with a case of your favorite wine, beautiful see-through glass offering a glamorous view of the cellar interior or a heavy solid door that creates a cozy cave-like feeling from inside the cellar, polished to perfection or distressed finish to complement aged characteristics of your specific wine cellar design.

While a full array of wine cellar doors is available for immediate delivery, you are welcome to create your own custom wine cellar entry system to make a dramatic and elegant statement that compliments your unique style.

Solid Wood

To enhance stability even further, the core of our mahogany doors contain the same solid mahogany species. For our engineered banded stiles and rails, each stile features a solid mahogany edge band. The engineered stiles and rails are stronger then single, solid wood pieces, reducing the possibility of the door warping or splitting. Our durable 3-ply wood panels will not twist, warp, shrink or expand.

In our finished series, the panel is completely prefinished and sealed on all six sides before being installed, and as the panels are free to float between fixed edges, there is no unfinished part of the panel that may show up with time. There are no nails that hold panels in place.

Mahogany Doors: Thinking of a grand statement to grace the entrance of your home? A mahogany door from Glenview Doors may be the right choice! Ever since the 18th century when Sir Walter Raleigh had a mahogany table made for Queen Elizabeth I, the allure of mahogany has grown. Mahogany varies from yellowish, reddish, pinkish, or salmon colored when freshly cut, to a deep rich red, to reddish brown as the wood matures with age. Mahogany is fine to medium texture, with uniform to interlocking grain, ranging from straight to wavy or curly. Irregularities in the grain often produce highly attractive figures such as fiddleback or mottle.

Mahogany polishes to a high luster, with excellent working and finishing characteristics. It responds well to hand and machine tools, has good nailing and screwing properties, and turns and carves superbly. Mahogany is regarded by many as the world's premier wood for fine cabinetry, high-class furniture, and mahogany front doors. Some characteristics that make mahogany perfect for a grand home entryway are:

  • Resistant to Rot, Decay, and Infestation.
  • Seasons/weathers well with minimal shrinkage and checking.
  • In Malaysian government tests, this wood was found to last up to 30 years when stakes of Mahogany were driven into the ground.
  • When left untreated it weathers to a soft grey.

If you are thinking Mahogany Doors, then think Glenview Doors!

Mahogany is invariably associated with elegance due to its widespread use in furnishings.
A reddish tone and close grain pattern makes mahogany an ideal choice for creating sophisticated environment.

Knotty Alder Rustic Doors - Knotty Alder Wood   Knotty Alder Rustic Doors - Knotty Alder Wood

Knotty Alder Doors: Looking for an entryway with a distinct personality to welcome visitors to your home? A knotty alder door from Glenview Doors is a great place to start. Alder has a fine close-grained structure and is easily stained and finished. Part of the popularity of Alder is due to the unusually wide range of grades that are available; with knotty alder giving rise to unique visible surfaces and unusual structural components.

The cream color of newly cut Alder turns a pink orange whilst working on it. This ‘bleeding’; causes the more mature wood to be beautifully tinted and veined. It was therefore much sought after by furniture makers. In the Highlands of Scotland, it was used for making chairs and cabinets and thus came to be known as ‘Scottish mahogany”. English wood workers were especially fond of the roots and knots of Alder wood and are believed to have been the first to fabricate knotty alder doors. The ancient Roman writer, Virgil, claims that the first boats were made of Alder wood. The timber can resist decay in a wet environment almost indefinitely. Venice floats partly on the strength of Alder trees.

If you are looking for a Knotty Alder Door, then look no further as Glenview Doors has a great selection that’s always in stock!
